Reigning and undisputed ONE heavyweight and light heavyweight MMA world champion ‘Sladkiy’ Anatoly Malykhin is confident his Tiger Muay Thai teammate and close friend, ONE bantamweight MMA world champion ‘Wonder Boy’ Fabricio Andrade, will get the job done in his next fight and make history, despite coming in as a slight underdog.
Andrade is set to take on the biggest challenge of his young professional career, as he takes on ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion ‘The General’ Jonathan Haggerty in a battle for the vacant ONE bantamweight kickboxing world title.
The fight goes down in the main event of ONE Fight Night 16: Haggerty vs. Andrade on Prime Video, which is set to be broadcast live from the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand on Friday, November 3.
Speaking to ONE Championship in a recent interview, Malykhin said he believes Andrade will emerge a two-sport world champion when it’s all said and done, because the 26-year-old Brazilian is just an absolute phenom.
If Malykhin is right, Andrade will have his hands raised by the end of the night, and will be the new king of the bantamweight kickboxing division.
Of course, that’s easier said than done. Andrade’s opponent, ‘The General’ Jonathan Haggerty, is one of the most potent offensive forces in ONE Championship. His one-sided annihilation of the legendary Nong-O Hama earlier this year is proof of the danger that Haggerty poses.
The Englishman also has a rare opportunity to become a two-sport ONE world champion if he defeats Andrade in this one.
Fans in the United States and Canada can catch all the action of ONE Fight Night 16: Haggerty vs. Andrade live and absolutely free with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription.
