Former Boyzone star Keith Duffy has been taken to hospital in Dubai. Taking to his Instagram Story, the singer shared a picture of him with a bandaged up knee as medical staff surrounded his bed. Keith, 49, didn't specify what had happened to him, but thanked the doctors and nurses for helping him get back on his feet for Friday's show at Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium in Al Garhoud. He added: "Surgery on hold till I get home but a little patchwork, some pain management, and the show must go on." Express.co.uk has contacted a representative for Keith for comment.
The singer is due to perform live this evening alongside ex-Westlife star Brian McFadden. The pair are now known as Boyzlife. Also taking to the stage for the gig are iconic boybands Five and Blue. Keith's gig comes after his gruelling Mount Kenya challenge in Africa, where he climbed to the top of the mountain and cycled over 100 km. The ex-Boyzone star and his group, which included ex-bandmate Shane Lynch, finished off their trip with a water rafting activity. Alongside a picture of the team in action, he wrote: "After 4 days Climbing to the top of mount Kenya 5km Then over 100k Cycling the African plains This was just the perfect way to finish us off.
"I’m home safe and sound but exhausted! Thank you for all your support." Meanwhile, his bandmate Brian has been keeping fans up to date with his time in Dubai so far. While embracing the sun today, he caught up with some friends for a game of golf. Ahead of his latest post, he shared a picture of him on his flight from Manchester, writing: "En route to Dubai. "Playing the Tennis arena at the Irish village with the wanderer @officialkeithduffy fresh of his brillliant trip to Kenya for @keithdfoundation love being back on @emirates too. 1a all the way!"
Back in 2019, Boyzone were forced to perform without Keith as part of their 25th anniversary tour after he was taken to hospital in Thailand. A statement at the time read: "Keith was taken ill before the gig here in Bangkok this evening and has been admitted to hospital on the advice of the local medical team. "Our brother will be back on his feet as soon as possible and we thank you for all your wonderful support in the meantime." After an overnight stay in hospital, he rejoined the band back on tour in Australia.
